United States of America Announces New AI Project: The Stargate Project

A $500 billion AI project, “The Stargate Project,” has been announced with investments led by OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle to make the U.S. a global leader in AI[1].

Stargate aims to build AI data centers that are 10 times faster and run on renewable energy.

SoftBank, OpenAI, and Oracle will be the main investors in the project, with OpenAI leading the project and NVIDIA, Oracle, and Microsoft as technology partners[2].

The project aims to create 100,000 jobs, drive innovation in sectors such as healthcare, and address AI’s processing power challenges.

OpenAI made the following statement in its official statement[3]:

As part of Stargate, Oracle, NVIDIA, and OpenAI will work closely to build and operate this computing system.

We all look forward to continuing to create and develop AI, and especially artificial general intelligence (“AGI”), for the benefit of all humanity. We believe this next step is critical and will enable creative people to understand how to use AI to uplift humanity.
